Electrolytes contain the electrolytes that are necessary to maintain the horse's balance between fluids and electrolytes. During physical exertion, the horse loses large amounts of electrolytes via sweat. Electrolytes that the horse must ingest to restore the body's balance. Imbalance between fluids and electrolytes can be manifested by slow recovery, exhaustion, dehydration, impaired muscle function and impaired performance. 

Electrolytes can be beneficially given to improve the horse's recovery and performance during harder exertion and during more intense periods of competition.

Which horses can eat Electrolytes? 

Electrolytes can be given to all horses. It is appropriate to give a higher dose on the days the horse trains and competes, or if it suffers from loose stools. 

- For horses that train or compete 

- For horses that need to supplement the feed balance 

- For horses suffering from loose faeces or diarrhoea

Dosage

10 ml (10 g) per 100 kg body weight per day during light exercise:

- Large horse (500 kg) give 50 ml/day

- Pony (250kg) give 25 ml/day

Give a double dose in case of heavy exercise or in case of significant sweat loss.

Mix in the feed or drinking water.

Note! The horse must always have free access to clean drinking water.
