Why B vitamins?
B vitamins play an important role and are crucial for several of the body's functions. Among other things they are included in energy and protein metabolism, the nervous system, skin and fur and the formation of red blood cells. As B vitamins work in several places in the body, the content of the various B vitamins is crucial, all are active in different processes.
Horses that train or compete may have an increased need for B vitamins in periods. If the horse has suffered from an imbalance in the intestinal flora or has been under medication, it may have reduced self-production of vitamins and may need a supplement to cover its basic needs.
B vitamin deficiency?
A lack of B vitamins can be expressed with several rather diffuse symptoms, but the most obvious are that the horse becomes listless, has a poor appetite and problems with the skin and fur.
