Trikem Biotin
Biotin for good hoof quality
Biotin for good hoof quality
Biotin works in the cells' metabolism and promotes the build-up of keratin, which is important for the quality of the hoof wall. Research has shown that a daily supplement of biotin can lead to increased growth and improved structure and strength in the hoof horn.
Bad hooves can cause major problems for the horse. A soft, brittle and cracked hoof horn can lead to lameness, difficulty in shoeing and pose problems for horses that are trained or competed in bare feet.
Biotin is a classic and well-used supplement for horse hoof growth.
Hoof growth and quality
A daily supplement of biotin can increase hoof growth and also have a positive effect on hoof quality.
Poor quality of the hoof horn can mean that the hoof horn is soft brittle and cracked. This can lead to both lameness and difficulty in shoeing. A good hoof quality reduces the risk of hooves cracking and breaking.
When is Biotin recommended?
Biotin is recommended as a daily supplement in case of poor hoof growth. Keep in mind that it takes about 8-10 months for the hoof horn to grow from crown stripe to sole, and the product may need to be used for a longer period of time before results are visible.
