Frosty Grass
"Is it dangerous for horses to eat frosty grass?"
For a healthy horse, eating frosty grass is not dangerous, and there is currently no scientific evidence suggesting that a healthy horse has a higher risk of developing colic or laminitis from frosty grass. However, it may pose a risk for horses with conditions such as insulin resistance, EMS (Equine Metabolic Syndrome), or those prone to or with a history of laminitis. Frosty grass often contains higher sugar levels, which can be a risk factor for laminitis.
