Pure vitamin C for horses
C-Vitamin contains 100% ascorbic acid and is a complementary feed for horses. Vitamin C acts as an antioxidant and is needed for the body's formation of collagen. Lack of vitamin C can have a negative impact on the immune system, reduce joint cartilage and the development of osteoarthritis and have a positive impact on wound healing. The older horse may have a reduced production of vitamin C, even as horses in hard work consume more vitamin C than they have time to produce and can therefore benefit from extra supplementation.
The importance of vitamin C
Vitamin C is an antioxidant that is needed to suppress and clean out the body's free radicals.
Vitamin C can facilitate the body's absorption of iron and is also necessary for the body's own production of collagen. The collagen, in turn, i.a. necessary for building joints, ligaments, tendons and skin.

Lack of vitamin C
A lack of vitamin C can negatively affect the immune system and wound healing. Vitamin C deficiency can also inhibit the formation of collagen.
When is vitamin C recommended?
Vitamin C is recommended for older or hard-training horses.

Dosage
3-6 ml (2-4 g) per 100 kg body weight or based on calculated feed rate.
Ex. Horse 500 kg 15 - 30 ml per day.
