Trikem Copper+ 900 g
1Copper supplements for horses
Copper supplement for horses
Copper supplement for horses, given to balance the forage in case of copper deficiency or iron excess. Copper promotes the absorption of iron and is needed for the formation of hemoglobin (red blood cells). Copper is also necessary for the enzymes that participate in the formation of elastin, collagen and melanin, all of which are substances that give the skin its protective and elastic properties. Copper is needed for bone formation, for the structure of joint surfaces, the immune system and the pigmentation of hair.
There are indications of a connection between copper deficiency and the occurrence of loose bone pieces, especially in younger horses. In the case of anemia, copper deficiency is often an underlying cause, and a clear deficiency symptom in horses with a copper deficiency is that the color of the fur becomes pale.
Copper+ is formulated to best balance the feed state in the event of a copper deficiency or an excess of iron. The ratio between Fe:Cu should be between 3-5 in the calculated feed state.
