Itching
"My dog is itching a lot and has dry skin. What can I do?"
Itching in dogs can have multiple causes, and it’s important to identify the underlying issue to provide the right treatment. It may be due to parasites such as mites or lice, skin infections like fungi or ringworm, skin diseases, or allergies—where allergies are the most common cause. Many dogs are sensitive to certain foods, such as beef or shellfish, while others react to environmental factors like dust mites or pollen.
You can help relieve discomfort with proper care and supplements:
- Coat & Skin – Contains essential fatty acids that are crucial for maintaining the skin barrier and keeping the skin soft and supple.
- MaxDigestive – Supports a strong and balanced gut flora, which is important for nutrient absorption and a healthy skin barrier. Since a large part of the immune system is in the gut, a well-functioning gut flora may also help reduce itching.
- Chlorhexidine Schampo – An antiseptic shampoo that helps combat fungi and bacteria on the skin while keeping it free from allergens.
- Chlorhexidine Spray – Allows targeted treatment of affected areas without the need for a full bath.
If your dog has severe, persistent, or recurring itching, you should always consult a veterinarian for further examination.
